Flames at Ducks preview

The Flames won their fourth straight on Saturday, scoring three consecutive third-period goals in a 5-3 win against the visiting Chicago Blackhawks. The Flames are outscoring opponents 28-11 in the third period; the Flames’ 28 third-period goals lead the NHL.

The Ducks lost at the Los Angeles Kings 4-1 on Tuesday, their eighth loss in the past nine games (1-6-2). Anaheim has scored more than two goals in regulation once in that span.

 

Players to watch

Flames center Sean Monahan has 10 points (four goals, six assists) in a six-game point streak. He needs one point for 300 in the NHL.

Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf has 25 points (six goals, 19 assists) in his last 19 games against the Flames.

Dube was injured in the win against the Blackhawks on Saturday and placed on injured reserve on Wednesday, the same day the Flames recalled Peluso from Stockton of the American Hockey League. … Miller is scheduled to make his first start against the Flames as a member of the Ducks. He has saved 109 of 117 shots in four appearances this season (.932 save percentage), including three starts.
