Suter, who was injured March 31, was on crutches Tuesday at the press conference to introduce Wild general manger Paul Fenton. The 33-year-old did not play the final four games of the regular season or in a five-game loss to the Winnipeg Jets in the Western Conference First Round.
Suter had 51 points (six goals, 45 assists) in 78 games and ranked second in the NHL with an average of 26:47 of ice time per game, behind Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty (26:50).
“I feel like once I start walking, then it’s kind of behind me,” Suter said. “… There’s a few more weeks for that, and once that happens, hopefully I’ll be ready to go.”
