Danault taken from ice on stretcher in Canadiens game against Bruins

Danault was hit in the head by a shot from Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara and left the ice with 1:37 remaining. Play was halted at that point and resumed after an early intermission.

Danault remained on the ice for more than 10 minutes before he was removed by medical personnel. He was awake and moving and was taken to the hospital for further examination.

The 24-year-old had an assist on a first-period goal by Max Pacioretty and has 23 points (seven goals, 16 assists) in 43 games this season.

The Canadiens and Bruins played the remainder of the second period then switched ends to immediately begin the third period.
