Fantasy Hockey: Scouting The NHL DFS – Friday, March 31 James Capone

The season is almost over, and we are in the stretch run before the playoffs start. Teams are starting to give their third- and fourth-line players more ice time, as well as players rejoining their NHL teams as their season overseas is over. We will start to see names show up that did well at the start of the season. We will want to start value hunting, and I will help you do so. With a nice seven-game slate to focus on, value and top plays will be plentiful. Time for us to move our little guy to the green and build your bankroll.

Mr. Pucks Profound Three

Vladimir Tarasenko (STL) – Wing – ($8100 FD / $7800 DK)

With goals in back to back games against Arizona, Vlad is pushing to break a career high in points of 74. He gets to inch closer as he faces off against the Avs. I expect a goal and two assists in what should be an easy win for the Blues.

Jeff Carter (LA) – Center – ($7300 FD / $6600 DK)

For some reason, people overlook Carter in DFS. With 62 points (30 goals / 32 assists) on the season, Carter has been a quiet DFS asset. He and his Kings head into Vancouver to take on a tough Canucks team. I expect two goals from Carter and five shots on net.

Sidney Crosby (Pit) – Center – ($9000 FD / $8400 DK)

Someone needs to get the Penguins back on track before the playoffs start. It is possible Malkin returns tonight, and this will give Crosby more motivation. Tonight is a Crosby night. Look for two goals and an assist with six shots on net.

Mr. Pucks Sleeper Play

John Hayden (CHI) – Wing – ($3400 FD / $3100 DK)

This is a gut feel play as his name keeps jumping out at me. With the Hawks already in the playoffs, players like Hayden will get more ice time, and the young 22-year-old will take advantage. I see an assist with five shots on net. He will save you cap space and help you move into the green.

Teams To Target

LA Kings – I will be using Carter and his second line in most all my lineups. Also like Gaborik as a pivot play. Muzzin or Doughty on defense.

Pittsburgh Penguins – Crosby line will be popular. If Malkin plays, he is a nice pivot. Also like Kessel to have a good game. Cole or Schultz on defense.

St. Louis Blues – The top line of Schwartz-Steen-Tarasenko should work great in GPP. Also like a sneaky third line two player stack of Yakupov-Barbashev. Pietrangelo or Bouwmeester on defense.

Also Consider: Wash 1, SJ 1, NYI 1, CBJ 2.

**As always check before puck drop to see if your goalie is starting*

Allen – Cash/GPP
Holtby – Cash/GPP
Crawford – Cash/GPP
Quick – GPP
Halak- GPP
