Phoenix Coyotes playing with Pittsburgh Penguins Today, 7:00 PM, March 25th at CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Penguins’forward Evgeni Malkin will ruled out for 2-3t weeks with a foot injury.
Malkin was injured while in-front of the net in his first shift over the St. Louis Blues on Sunday night game, Penguins coach Dan Bylsma told. Malkin did not practice Monday, which was told to be due to a day off for the Penguins’ Olympians except forward Chris Kunitz. Bylsma said Malkin will not need surgery.
Malkin was playing some of his most productive hockey of the season prior to the injury, culminating in a four-point, two-goal performance against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
The Coyotes did not hold a morning skate after losing 4-3 in overtime to the New York Rangers on Monday. Goalie Mike Smith was injured in the third period of that game and is day-to-day.
