Stepan agreed to a 2 year contract deal

Derek Kenneth Stepan is one of the American professional ice hockey players, he is currently playing in the National Hockey League for the New York Rangers team. In 2008 NHL Entry Draft he was drafted by the New York Rangers in the second round and was 51st overall.

The 23 years old Derek Stepan, the free agent of the New York Rangers had missed the training camp on the first day. He had agreed to a two year contract deal which is worth of about $6.15 million, where $2.3 million this season and $3.85 million in 2014-2015.

Stepan will be going to to New York and he will rejoin the team when he gets back from the West Coast trip. In the last season he had played about 48 games and led New York Rangers by scoring about 26 assists, 18 goals.

He was the United States captain in 2010 IIHF World U20 Championships and in seven games he led the tournament in scoring with ten assists and four goals.
