Stepan miss the first day of the camp

Derek Kenneth Stepan is one among the American professional ice hockey players; he is currently playing in the National Hockey League for the New York Rangers. In 2008 NHL Entry Draft he was drafted by the New York Rangers in the second round and was 51st overall.

He had missed the training camp on the first day, where all players were to report to the team’s training facility for mandatory physicals. The 23 years old Derek Stepan, the free agent of the Rangers would not be reporting the camp without a contract which was reported by Matt Oates the Stepan’s agent. 

Vigneault the new coach of the Rangers said that he had talked with Stepan a couple of times and he also said that, Stepan knows that contracts aren’t a part of his responsibility but he would take him with open arms when he gets for the camp.

He was the United States captain in 2010 IIHF World U20 Championships and in seven games he led the tournament in scoring with ten assists and four goals.
