The New Jersey Devils signed a multi-year deal with the restricted free agent Adam Henrique today. The team management announced the deal without revealing the contract terms. Based on the reports available, the deal would be of six years with $24 million pay.
The 23 year-old Henrique played 42 games in last season and scored 16 points (11 goals and 5 assists). He was the third round pick in 2008 NHL Draft and he was the Calder Trophy finalist following his rookie season with 16 goals and 51 points in 74 goals in 2011-12 season.
The 6-foot, `195-pound center debuted in NHL in April 11, 2011against Boston. He helped the New Jersey Devils to enter in Stanley Cup Final with series highest goals.
He played 117 NHL games and scored 27 goals and 67 points. He has 5 goals and 13 points in 24 Stanley Cup Playoff games. The deal is really important for both the parties, where Devils expecting a great come back from Henrique for the upcoming season.
