Dennis Cunningham Honored with ‘Distinguished Leadership Award’ by NCS4.

Dennis Cunningham, Executive Vice President for Security, NHL (National Hockey League) was presented the ‘Distinguished Leadership Award’ for the year 2013 by the National Center for Sports Safety and Security (NCS4).

A person who contributes continuous efforts with respect to sport safety and security and succeeded throughout his career will be honored with this award. To justify this highest honor, the recipient’s service, commitment, ingenuity and integrity have elevated the profession to new levels.

National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) panel will select the recipient for this award. Selection panel will have a team of Subject matter experts at The University of Southern Mississippi.

NCS4 was founded in 2006, at The University of Southern Mississippi. Its aim to provide an interdisciplinary academic environment to increase sport security awareness, policies and procedures. Every year NCS4 presents this award at the National Sports Safety and Security Conference & Exhibition.

NCS4 director Dr. Lou Marciani stated that “Dennis is most deserving of this distinguished award,” he added “He has made numerous safety and security contributions to both the National Hockey League and to the advancement of our Center.”

Dennis Cunningham is excited this award and he thanked the NCS4 and panel for recognizing him and selecting for this award. He stated – “I am grateful to be the recipient of the Center’s Distinguished Leadership Award and would like to extend my thanks to all who have had a part in organizing this award”

“Together, the NCS4 and the University of Southern Mississippi are known for their focus on research, education, and outreach to the sports event security community, and to be recognized by them is an honor.” he added.
