First round draft pick of Nashville Predators Seth Jones stepped onto the ice at near Vanderbilt University in the oppressive Tennessee with his favorite No. 3 sewn on the back of practice jersey.
Predators willing to make the opportunity for this 18 years old defenseman to skate. Predators GM, David Polie says that Jones can play for the team this year, and all the predators believe his skills on the ice.
The Predators coach Barry Trotz did not skate along with the players but stood close to the boards to assess the skills of the future predators.
Trotz says about Seth Jones- He’s a young man, who you can tell at 18-years-old, he’s got lots of poise and polish and moves pretty well,” he added, “He’s a foundation-type player who will be a foundation-type for us for a number of years.”
This is his first week at the development camp and first on-ice audition for coaching and management staffs of the Predators at their practice facility. Predators have one season with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL; Jones hopes that his junior hockey days are behind him.
After the session Jones expressed his happiness on getting back on to the Ice. He said “It was pretty intense,” and ”It was good to get back on the ice and learn from some of the coaches who are here.”
